Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Join the Network

This role is with an exciting and unique organisation in the NHS, working on NHS service improvement, organisation, development and policy.

You will:

  • Support the capability building and performance improvement of Trusts;
  • Support boards of directors to lead improvements in quality, productivity and patient experience;
  • Scope, design and pilot development programmes for trust boards including Medical Directors, Chairs and CEOs;
  • Work across the health care system partners at both a regional and national level e.g. educational institutions or member organisations to design development programmes;
  • Communicate and advocate development policies and performance improvement initiatives.

You will have:

  • Experience in health policy and/or strategic development;
  • Experience of organisational development within a UK healthcare provider;
  • Frontline clinical or operational experience gained in the NHS or other healthcare system;
  • Experience in an operational management position within a provider organisation;
  • Experience of using improvement methodologies and building capability for improvement;
  • Ability to build credibility and influence senior audiences on complex topics;
  • Networking and relationship-building with board members and senior stakeholders and comfortable representing the team and the organisation with external partners;
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, maintain discretion and use initiative;
  • Strong problem-structuring and problem-solving skills as demonstrated in policy, strategy or research projects;
  • Good organisational skills and ability to plan and manage policy studies to deadlines, focusing on the delivery of outcomes;
  • A confident communicator with strong drafting and presenting skills.
