My client is an established membership body based in Central London. They are ever growing organisations that are looking to add an experienced policy professional to their team, supporting the Head of Asset Finance in developing policy.

This is a high profile organisation and requires someone with first class communication skills and attention to detail.

Job Description

The responsibilities of the post holder will:

  • Deputise for the Head of Asset Finance when required e.g. attending meetings with members;
  • Act as a point of contact for members on asset finance issues, including the preparation of responses to consultation papers and briefings;
  • Ensure that members are updated on all the latest regulatory issues as they happen – primarily via email and website updates;
  • Provide secretariat support for Asset Finance Divisional Committees. This includes preparation of agendas, papers, minutes and booking speakers;
  • Providing logistical and administrative support to roundtables and other policy/thought leadership events;
  • Maintain the Asset Finance members’ database;
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and advise the Head of Asset Finance and the Head of Finance of initiatives that may give rise to income-producing events;
  • Monitor public policy initiatives and government consultations;
  • Prepare policy briefings for the Head of Asset Finance;
  • Attend external meetings with politicians, government departments, consumer groups and regulators, acting as support to the Head of Asset Finance and AFD members;
  • Assist in identifying potential member firms;
  • Assist in contributing original material to publications and the trade press.

Person Specification

Essential Knowledge/ Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience of public policy and experience in a policy role (essential);
  • Understanding of regulatory environment and financial services (financial services policy knowledge is desirable but not essential);
  • Demonstrate ability to deal with complex, technical policy;
  • Relationship management skills;
  • Strong administrative skills;
  • Ability to deputise for the Head of Asset Finance when required;
  • Self-motivated, confident and proactive;
  • Able to multitask and prioritise.
