CHAS is a charity on a mission. We’re going to make sure that wherever there’s a child in Scotland with a life-shortening condition we’re on hand to support them and their family. We want to make sure that no matter how short their time together, it is filled with moments of joy.

Key Responsibilities

This role will work closely with the Associate Director for External Affairs, CHAS CEO and the senior leadership team. The Policy and Public affairs Manager will:

  • Support the delivery of CHAS’s influencing strategy;
  • Support CHAS’s engagement with parliamentarians, local government, policy makers, civil servants and other stakeholders;
  • Ensure that CHAS develops and delivers on our policy and advocacy strategy.

About You

We are looking for a dynamic individual and excellent communicator with strong analytical skills. In order to help us achieve our mission while representing the interests of the children and families we support, you will have:

  • Strong policy experience;
  • A proven record of developing and delivering successful public affairs programmes;
  • The ability to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • A commitment to working with volunteers.

About CHAS

At CHAS, our ambition is to reach every family in Scotland who is living with the heart-breaking prognosis that their child is dying, and offer them our care and support to empower them to make the most of the short time they have together. As a Policy and Public Affairs Manager, you will be instrumental in achieving this vision.
