Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

Two Policy Managers are sought by an influential trade association based in central London.

The organisation has a long history of representing the interests of business on a multitude of policy issues. They are a leading voice for business and have a reputation for influencing positive policy outcomes.

As a Policy Manager you will be responsible for the following:

  • Developing policy positions on variety of issues (from transport policy to employment & skills) which will contribute to the organisation’s campaigning strategy with the objective of influencing Government, Parliamentarians and other key audiences;
  • Responding to consultations, drafting policy papers and delivering other policy outputs;
  • Representing the organisation to a variety of audiences (MPs, policy makers and others);
  • Monitoring the external political environment to identify threats and opportunities for the organisation and its Members.

Candidates will come from a strong policy background having worked in Parliament, Whitehall, trade association or another public policy environment. 

Candidates are also required to demonstrate the following:

  • A strong academic background to degree level or equivalent;
  • A demonstrable background in policy and/or public affairs;
  • Excellent communication skills with experience of working / engaging with politicians and policy makers;
  • An understanding of the public policy concerns of business.
