A healthcare professional body are currently seeking a Policy Officer to develop evidence based policy positions that will influence the health policy debate ensuring the organisation retains its position as a leading authority in this area.

This is a busy and varied role where you will be responsible for:

  • Developing evidence-based policy positions on a variety of health policy issues;
  • Engage with politicians and Whitehall officials in order to present the organisation’s perspective and seek to influence positive outcomes;
  • Assist in raising the profile of the organisation amongst senior decision makers across the healthcare landscape in the UK;
  • Work with both internal and external stakeholders in order to build strategic alliances on policy issues of common concern.

Required knowledge, skills and experience:

  • A strong academic background in a relevant discipline, to degree level or equivalent;
  • Extensive experience of developing evidence based policy positions in healthcare or related areas;
  • Demonstrable experience of distilling complex information into policy positions;
  • Evidence of building strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders;
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) with demonstrable drafting and writing policy reports;
  • A confident and composed manner with the ability to work on own initiative and think independently.
