The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

Come and join the growing Policy and International team of the world-leading Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

As a Principal Policy Advisor, you will work as part of a team to develop and deliver practical policy options that promote competition, both within and outside the United Kingdom, for the benefit of consumers.

Working in a collegiate manner, you will provide support to teams across the organisation, providing high quality policy advice and contributing to effective, joined-up and timely delivery of work.

To be considered for this key role you will need to evidence in your application:

  • Proven ability to develop policy, drawing on analysis of a wide range of data;
  • Ability to communicate complex issues clearly;
  • Ability to create effective working relationships internally at all levels, and externally with stakeholders, both domestically and internationally;
  • Ability to deliver projects successfully working with multi-disciplinary teams and deliver results within challenging timescales.

We are looking for people from a diverse range of analytical, research, policy, government, regulatory, economics, and legal backgrounds.

There will be substantial opportunities to influence how the CMA and others think about markets ranging from the digital economy, to EU Exit, and reforming our approach.
