Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

A five month fixed term contract has arisen for a Programme Manager – Research for a Royal Academy.

You will:

  • Define and deliver the benefits of any assigned research schemes to time, within budget and at the required quality;
  • Assist the Head of Research in provision of secretariat support to any relevant committees and steering groups;
  • Work with the Head of Research and other colleagues to promote and communicate the organisation’s research programmes, bursaries and associated activities, e.g. through the organisation of events and production of case studies etc;
  • Support the Head of Research in developing and securing new programmes and income streams;
  • Manage relationships with assigned programme funders, Universities and other Institutes with support from Head of Research;
  • Contribute to the development of the new electronic Grants Management System and, to ensure that it is used effectively.

You will have:

  • Experience of project management;
  • Experience of working in research;
  • Experience of managing budgets;
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills;
  • Effective communicator – both orally and in writing;
  • Team worker with good interpersonal skills;
  • Able to perform effectively under pressure;
  • Effective management of delivery partnerships with other organisations.
