A fantastic opportunity has arisen within a high profile charity who are seeking an experienced public affairs professional to join as a Public Affairs and Communications Manager. As part of the wider external relations team, the successful candidate will have a track record of delivering high-profile public affairs campaigns and managing projects. The role will work closely with the CEO, leading on public affairs and parliamentary activity in order to build visibility of the organisation, its achievements and policy positions among political stakeholders.

Key accountabilities:

  • Lead on all public affairs work and parliamentary engagement in order to raise the profile of the charity;
  • Lead on planning and delivery of public affairs projects, including managing the budgets;
  • Represent the organisation at relevant events and party conferences;
  • Build relationships with external and internal stakeholders;
  • Support the Head of PR to increase the organisations profile in media and identify relevant opportunities;
  • Engage and influence people at every level.

Profile of the successful candidate:

  • Track record of delivering public affairs campaigns in a similar role, in-house or within an agency;
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to inspire and lead a team/ junior members;
  • Excellent ambassadorial skills, representing the organisation at a senior level;
  • Demonstrable project management skills;
  • Proven experience of working with stakeholders and successfully influencing at all levels;
  • Ideally have experience of working with/engaging young people or the passion to do so.
