Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen with a highly influential membership body. In what is a visible and key role for the organisation, you will influence decision making at the highest levels of the UK government.

You will be in the room as conversations take place which shape the direction of social policy and the wider economy; you will be a crucial political advisor and trusted counsel to the senior management of the organisation.

The employer is an umbrella body for organisations in its area of interest, with members working across the UK economy. They have a proactive policy and influencing agenda, and a high political and media profile.

You will implement the public affairs agenda for the organisation, working closely with senior management, in order to meet and exceed objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and implementing their public affairs activity for the UK;
  • Advocating on behalf of the company to Westminster, Whitehall and other key stakeholders;
  • Supporting the senior management team and media team with political insight and advice;
  • Horizon scan, monitor and respond to political issues that may affect the organisation or its members.

Experience

  • Having worked in a public affairs in a charity, trade association or similar environment in public affairs;
  • Demonstrable successes and achievements in the field of public affairs;
  • A leader who can put forward intelligent proposals and get buy-in from senior leadership;
  • A cool headed individual who has nous, a keen attention to detail and the exceptional ability to think strategically.
