A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Affairs Manager (Industry and Commerce).
You will:
- Report to the Head of Policy and Regulatory Affairs, the Regulatory Affairs Manager acts as a main point of contact between the organisation and the regulator;
- Act as a main regulatory lead on the organisation’s commercial projects, drafting proposals and submissions in support of the organisation’s strategic objectives;
- Provide regulatory expertise, advice and guidance across the organisation, contributing to relevant projects regarding licensing, compliance and other regulatory matters;
- Ensures compliance with the organisation’s licences;
- Oversees the organisation’s management of regulatory enforcement activity, including dealing with incidents and defending potential licence breaches;
- Potential to develop responsibility for managing and developing a small team of Regulatory Affairs Executives.
You will have:
- Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders in order to gain consensus and influence outcomes;
- Strong track record of operating successfully in a commercial environment, with regulatory or policy stakeholders – gained for example through working for a regulated company – although technical regulatory skills are non-essential;
- Ability to take a fresh perspective on issues and continually challenge the status quo;
- Takes a nuanced approach to risk, recognising that different situations require a different risk appetite;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to explain complex problems clearly and concisely to non-expert audiences and recommend action;
- Excellent intellectual and analytical skills and ability to build persuasive arguments in support;
- Experience of working in a technology or digital environment advantageous;
- Experience of people management and development.
