Join the Network

On behalf of my client, a leading professional standards body, I am running a process to appoint two Senior Associates into the External Affairs Team. The roles within the Business Focus policy team and will work on topics that include, sustainability, business ethics, economics, financial services, and identifying future trends in the profession.

I am looking for a candidate that has already had professional exposure to one of these subjects within the Business Focus team. They should have a track-record in the creation and dissemination of content-rich brand management activities to business audiences, the ability to develop policy positions in relevant areas and project management experience and skills.

Responsibilities:

  • To generate, in collaboration with colleagues, Global Forums and external subject specialists, high-quality content and policy positions on areas relevant to the Business Focus team, with an eye to tailoring communication to the organisations internal and external audiences;
  • To work closely with and influence, key external stakeholders to ensure the organisations contribution to the development of policy, standards and practice;
  • To be one of the organisations external representatives on subjects within the Business Focus team as required;
  • To work with the Policy Head to ensure that the strategy and business plans for External Affairs fully reflect and anticipate developments on relevant subject areas;
  • To work with the External Affairs Delivery team, to ensure that projects run on time, on budget and in formats that will have maximum impact;
  • To advise senior management and external stakeholders on the development of policy and/or practice in the subject area(s);
  • To actively contribute to the management and growth of the organisations network of influential stakeholders including the Global Forums;
  • To champion the External Affairs plan internally and externally.

Knowledge and Experience Needed:

  • Knowledge of or  interest in the subjects covered by the Business Focus team, which includes, but is not limited to, economics, future outlook and trends in the profession, sustainability, Islamic finance and the financial services sector in general;
  • Demonstrate an ability and keenness to acquire relevant levels of knowledge quickly;
  • Proven impact through the creation and launch of thought leadership and content pieces for business audiences;
  • Previous experience in developing policy positions in a multi-stakeholder environment;
  • Excellent project management skills;
  • Experience of structuring research and reporting in a logical, rigorous and effective manner;
  • Evidence of a senior-level network and profile in key communities within relevant to the Business Focus team;
  • An authoritative and credible style;
  • Strong organisational skills;
  • A creative but professional approach to work;
  • Educated to Masters’ level (in Economics is desirable), or equivalent experience.
