A leading independent public affairs and communications agency is looking for a proactive senior consultant with a good understanding of the political, policy, and media environments, to join their fast growing and innovative team. Known for its quality expertise, the agency works with big name clients to provide innovative and integrated communications strategies. This role is an excellent opportunity for a versatile senior consultant or account director who has strong management skills.

As Senior Consultant your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as senior counsel to clients, as well as leading strategic development accounts;
  • Delivering a wide range of client documents, including policy audits, campaign proposals, press releases, and strategy documents;
  • Directing account teams and taking the initiative to exercise judgment independently of senior management;
  • Managing account resourcing, such as budget, people and hours, and invoicing;
  • Supporting senior management, as well as building team spirit and providing coaching and support across account teams;
  • Providing expert advice to clients at all levels.

The ideal Senior Consultant will have:

  • Proven experience working in public affairs, preferably within an agency;
  • Credible expertise in one or more specialist areas;
  • Experience in the day to day management of accounts and projects;
  • Successful track record of negotiating client fees;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to tailor approach for different audiences;
  • Strong account and project management skills;
  • Excellent networking skills, as well as the ability to generate new business leads;
  • Track record of providing input and support to marketing or internal company initiatives.
