A leading business group are currently recruiting for a Senior Policy Advisor (Industrial Strategy), based in central London.

As the Senior Policy Advisor, you will be responsible for a variety of policy work that focuses on developing positions that seek to represent the interests of regional industry and commerce.

Key responsibilities

Develop policy positions on the regional and devolved nations economic priorities;
Monitor political and policy developments, responding to consultations, drafting papers, reports and briefings as appropriate;
Ensuring that regional policy work feeds into the national policy strategy of the organisation, working closely with senior management;
Engage with regional businesses to identify key priorities that will feed into local and regional industrial strategies, in accordance with the Government’s Industrial Strategy White Paper.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

A strong academic background to degree-level or equivalent;
Experience of policy development and knowledge of the policy making process in the UK;
Ideally, you will have knowledge of the local and devolved administration political environments;
Some knowledge of the government’s industrial strategy would be desirable.
