Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) and Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) are working together for a prosperous and poverty free UK where everyone can thrive and contribute. Having recently undergone a re-structure the Communications & External Affairs department is now looking to recruit to a number of new posts. Successful candidates will join a team who are passionate about increasing strategic communications in order to bring about positive change for all of us affected by poverty and social problems in the UK.

Influencing policy makers and practitioners to bring about positive lasting social change is a fundamental part of JRF and JRHT’s organisational purpose. We are looking for a Senior Public Affairs Officer who can ensure that we are building the right relationships with influencers, politicians and policy makers across the political spectrum. The successfully candidate needs to be able to provide strategic public affairs input into influencing strategies which support organisational and programme objectives. This role will be based in London with frequent travel to JRF’s headquarters in York, and occasional travel throughout the UK.

We are looking for someone with a highly developed political awareness and commitment to political independence; knowledge of public policy and an understanding of social research along with an ability to communicate research and statistical data. As a team player who can work across a number of areas you will have strong interpersonal skills including a positive and proactive approach with a focus on collaboration and finding solutions.

The role is part of the Communications and External Affairs Directorate, and is located within the Public Affairs Team which includes the functions of public and parliamentary affairs, events, and partnerships. The role reports to the Head of Public Affairs and line manages the Public Affairs Officer.
