An opportunity has arisen within a central government department for a Senior Speechwriter on a four month contract.
Role:
- The senior speechwriter will draft speeches and articles for the junior Ministerial team;
- Will draft, research and edit speeches, warm words and articles for the junior Ministerial team;
- The senior speechwriter will advise on acceptance of speech invitations, liaising with private officers, special advisers and policy officials to ensure the speaking programme is as targeted and effective as possible.
Essential:
- Experience of speechwriting (preferably within Whitehall);
- Understanding Departmental and ministerial priorities and communicating key messages clearly and accurately;
- A strong Policy overview and political awareness;
- Experience of working cross-discipline;
- Working under tight deadlines;
- Excellent written ability;
- Experience of working within a central government department.
