I am currently recruiting for a Stakeholder Engagement Adviser with the Bank of England.

The role will require a significant degree of internal and external stakeholder engagement including the creation of a number of Working Groups and the provision of secretariat services to these.

The jobholder will be a key link between the Bank and market participants in keeping internal and external stakeholders updated and ensuring that a dynamic, two-way dialogue is maintained as the ISO20022 standard is implemented as part of RTGS renewal. The role will require someone who is comfortable working in a flexible environment.

In this role the jobholder will gain a detailed insight into the role of the RTGS system which is central to the fulfilment of many of the Bank’s most crucial functions, including the monetary policy transmission mechanism, the safe functioning of systemically important market infrastructures and the shape of the wholesale and retail payment systems that underpin the financial system.

You will have:

  • A proven ability to turn technical analysis into clear and compelling messaging both verbally and in writing;
  • A self-starting learner with the ability to grasp/understand new technical issues;
  • Good workload management, being able to balance a wide range of work with differing timetables;
  • Flexibility to handle a range of demands, either working alone or as part of a team; effective communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Ability to identify and influence stakeholders at all levels and constructively challenge whilst maintaining good working relationships;
  • Capable of using own initiative and creativity to map and engage with stakeholders from sectors and businesses with limited existing connections to the Bank;
  • Collaborative and supportive working style operating independently across organisational boundaries;
  • Successful candidates will also demonstrate awareness of sensitive/delicate situations and be comfortable with ambiguity;
  • Experience working in a highly-regulated industry, financial services or central government is desirable but not essential.
