The Home Office deals with some of the most important issues facing the UK - tackling crime, terrorism and securing our borders. With a diverse team working on a huge array of issues that affect the whole nation, stakeholder engagement is key to our ongoing success.

Joining us in this senior management role, you will lead a dedicated team which helps the organisation prioritise and target stakeholder groups. Working closely with a wide range of colleagues across Government, you will drive the development and implementation of plans to build or strengthen relationships and keep our stakeholders informed across the full spectrum of policies.

Quickly getting to grips with a wide range of policy and operational issues, you and your team will provide strategic advice to directors, ensuring they focus on the right relationships and issues. Your remit will range from mapping, prioritising and segmenting stakeholder groups, through to creating channel plans and engagement opportunities. Along the way, you will champion the use of our CRM database and encourage agile and responsive approaches by your team. Ultimately, you will position your team as a trusted hub of expertise in stakeholder insight, horizon scanning and more.

To be equal to the challenge, you will need an impressive track record in stakeholder or strategic communications. A persuasive and authoritative individual, your proven talent for influencing others to achieve common goals will be at the heart of your success. Your skills span stakeholder engagement, event and project management, media relations and lobbying. We will expect you to be familiar with all communications channels and disciplines, with insight into how audiences receive and reject messages, and how to change behaviour and attitudes.

The Home Office offers excellent career development prospects, competitive pension and benefits arrangements, and extensive professional support networks. Exactly as you would expect from a large, progressive employer like the Civil Service.
