Network Rail is building a better railway for a better Britain – one that is safer, greener, more reliable and efficient. From the revitalisation of iconic stations to Europe’s largest civil engineering project, Crossrail, we are involved in some of the most ambitious and diverse ventures the nation has ever seen. The changes we are making will transform the journeys of passengers and freight, underpinning growth and success in the national economy.
Joining our Group Strategy function in this key role, you’ll enjoy exciting opportunities to play a part in major business projects and strategic initiatives that cross our entire business and the wider rail industry. Reacting to the evolution of the industry, activities could include cross border projects, intra-UK alliances and business changes. You will help to shape these projects and take personal responsibility for their successful delivery. We will look to you to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency and provide expert advice, including impact assessments. Along the way, you will work closely with important stakeholders throughout the industry.
To be equal to the challenge, you’ll need a relevant background in the transport sector. A real passion for the rail industry is essential. Commercially minded and financially astute, you have successfully managed a range of significant projects, contracts or programmes. What really sets you apart are exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
