GK Strategy invites you to a webinar briefing on the Lifelong Learning Entitlement.

Tuesday 8th September 09:00 – 09:45

The Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE) marks a significant step towards greater flexibility in higher education, enabling students to receive funding for modular study as well as full courses. From September 2026, learners will be able to apply for LLE funding for courses and modules starting from January 2027 onwards.

The LLE has the potential to be transformative, supporting individuals to learn throughout their lives. But how exactly was the LLE conceived, what does the new entitlement mean for learners and providers and what impact will the entitlement have on higher and further education sectors?

Speakers:

  • The Rt Hon Robert Halfon, GK Strategic Adviser and former Minister for Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education. During his tenure, Rob brought through the legislation to establish the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE);
  • Ian Coates, GK Strategic Adviser and former senior civil servant. During his tenure, Ian led the implementation of the Higher Education and Research Act 2017, including establishing the Office for Students (OfS).
