We are excited to be launching our first policy paper on 1 September 12:00-13:30. It is a discussion paper about political literacy and participation. We have contributions and speakers from the IPPR, Parliamentary Outreach Trust, Elect Her, GK Strategy, ShoutOut UK, Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, Crisis and Media Trust. The paper and launch will discuss the need to diversify the political sphere and widen participation given the influence of political decisions in every aspect of our lives.
Our contributors explore the implications of low political literacy and participation on political decisions, how we engage with media content, our ability to tackle specific policy issues and whether we’re equipped to manage political risks in our lives. Based on their contributions we’ve proposed a number of next steps that we’ll discuss in breakout rooms during the event.
