Trafalgar Strategy is looking for a Junior Consultant to join our fast growing team.

This is an entry level role, ideal for an ambitious individual interested in a career in PR & Public Affairs. Experience of working in parliament or for a political party will be beneficial but is not essential. Your primary focus will be to assist in delivering both proactive and reactive media and political engagement strategies to our clients.

Trafalgar Strategy is a strategic communications consultancy that advises on reputation management, campaigns, public affairs and other complex communications challenges. We draw on experience from the highest levels of government in the UK and internationally. In recent years, we have delivered award-winning campaigns and dealt with some of the biggest issues that have led TV news bulletins and dominated newspaper front pages.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out research to support new business proposals and pitches;
  • Writing press releases, news stories, articles and case studies;
  • Arranging and coordinating media interviews and stakeholder meetings;
  • Working as part of a team to brainstorm and develop ideas;
  • Monitoring political, media and business trends and developments and reporting back to the team and clients;
  • Staying up to date with industry trends and best practices;
  • Taking notes on client calls and meetings;
  • Proactively pitching to the media on behalf of our clients;
  • Attending client events and industry conferences;
  • Researching and creating media and stakeholder lists;
  • Supporting in managing relationships with key clients;
  • General day-to-day administrative assistance, such as event planning.

Skills Required

  • Excellent written and spoken English;
  • First class copywriting skills with forensic attention to detail;
  • Creative flair for producing engaging communications;
  • Strong presentation skills;
  • Confident telephone manner;
  • Interest in media, business and current affairs;
  • Research skills;
  • A high-level of organisational and administrative skills.
