Poll of the Day

An Ipsos-Mori poll for STV has showed the SNP are set to take 54% of the vote in Scotland next week. On this result, were there to be a uniform swing, the SNP could win all 59 Scottish seats. Connect Previews tonight’s Question Time

Our thoughts on tonight’s BBC Question Time question and answer programme…

With one week to go, David Cameron, Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg will field questions from a studio audience with David Dimbleby in the Chair. It will be the final opportunity for the public to quiz the main party leaders on live TV, but not the head-to-head debate that Ed Miliband has been calling for. The Telegraph has this morning splashed on what it claims is audience bias with the Tories, Labour and Lib Dem all given 25 per cent of the audience each. The BBC’s Chief Political Adviser, Ric Bailey has, however, hit back saying the composition is not relying on opinion polls and is based on giving all three leaders the same level of scrutiny. Nigel Farage, Nicola Sturgeon and Leanne Wood will be given their own half hour programmes later on in their respective regions.
