Newington Communications was announced as the new name of public and corporate affairs consultancy Bellenden.

The agency was founded a decade ago by Mark Glover, currently Chief Executive, and Phil Briscoe, Managing Director of Newington Communications’ Local Public Affairs Division. The award-winning organisation has more than 45 consultants across the UK, covering a range of sectors including education, energy, fin-tech, healthcare, housing, infrastructure, justice and transport.

Commenting on the relaunch, Mark Glover said: “Our rebrand as Newington Communications is the beginning of the company’s next exciting chapter of growth.

“The name Bellenden stems from where we started out on Bellenden Road, Peckham, and when it was just me and company co-founder, Phil Briscoe.

“The rebrand and the move to bigger premises reflect our ambitious growth plans. As well as continuing to provide the highest quality support to our existing clients across public and corporate affairs, we will also be looking to build on our national and regional offices in addition to growing our European reach.”

Phil Briscoe added: “We’re a company that has grown from humble beginnings into the fifth biggest public affairs consultancy in the country with offices in London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Chelmsford, and a growing presence in Brussels.

“We wanted a name that kept us rooted to our London HQ but also reflected our cross country footprint. As a place name found throughout the UK, we felt the name Newington achieved this.”
