Every Parliament produces a new generation of politicians who quickly establish themselves as figures to watch. Through strong performances, growing influence and an ability to connect with audiences both inside and outside Westminster, these emerging voices often help define the future direction of British politics.

The past year has seen a number of newer MPs build their profile through effective campaigning, thoughtful contributions to debate and strong engagement with the issues that matter most to their constituents and the wider public.

That is why the Pagefield Award for Rising Star of the Year recognises an emerging MP or Peer who has made a significant impact over the past year through strong political performance, growing influence and standout media engagement.

This year’s shortlist highlights three politicians who have each established themselves as notable voices in Westminster while still being at a relatively early stage in their parliamentary careers.

The nominees are:

Rosie Wrighting MP

As the youngest female MP elected at the last UK General Election, Rosie Wrighting has quickly established a distinctive presence in Parliament.

She has been a strong advocate for mental health services, carers and greater awareness of epilepsy, helping bring these issues to wider political attention. Alongside her parliamentary work, she has embraced new approaches to public engagement, using digital platforms to connect with audiences and make politics more accessible.

Her combination of advocacy, visibility and willingness to engage with younger audiences has helped her stand out among the new intake of MPs.

Katie Lam MP

Katie Lam has emerged as one of the most notable new Conservative MPs, building a profile through her contributions to parliamentary debates and her growing presence within the party.

She has demonstrated confidence and effectiveness in media appearances while developing a reputation as a thoughtful and articulate advocate for her political priorities.

At an early stage in her parliamentary career, she has already established herself as a politician with significant future potential.

Chris Curtis MP

Before entering Parliament, Chris Curtis was widely known for his work in political research and public opinion analysis. Since becoming an MP, he has successfully translated that expertise into parliamentary politics.

He has developed a reputation for thoughtful contributions on electoral politics, public attitudes and policy development, while maintaining a strong presence across traditional and digital media.

His ability to communicate complex political issues clearly and accessibly has made him one of the most closely watched members of the new generation of MPs.

The winner will be announced as part of the Pagefield Awards 2026 on 15th June.
