Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Award winning agency, Deryn Consulting, have welcomed three new members of staff. Mathew Norman, Emily Pemberton and Anwen Jones have recently joined to bolster the team which provides public affairs support and government relations advice to clients in the private, public and third sector across the range of policy areas, including education, health, infrastructure, economic development, housing and energy fields.

Norman joins from Asthma UK and the British Lung Foundation brings a wealth of policy and campaigning experience to the team. A law graduate, in his previous role he led on lung prevention and air pollution policy. Coordinating with key stakeholders and members of Healthy Air Cymru, he played a part in securing calls from all political parties in the 6th Senedd for a new Clean Air Act for Wales. And prior to this whilst at the RLA (Registered Landlords Association) he worked with Tai Pawb on the Award-Winning 'Open Doors' Project to increase access to the Private Rented Sector.

Jones is currently finalising her Masters in Cardiff University in Welsh Politics and Government has recently won the John Davies memorial award from the Coleg Cenedlaethol for her work. Originally from Llanelli, she also won a prize for the best student in final year Welsh History in Cardiff University whilst an undergraduate.

Pemberton, from Grangetown in Cardiff, is in her third year in Cardiff University studying International Relations. Last year she worked on and featured in S4C’s “Pawb a’i Farn – Black Lives Matters” which has recently been nominated for a Bafta Cymru award for the best news and current affairs programme. 

Speaking about the appointment, Deryn Director Nerys Evans said “It’s been a busy year, supporting more than 50 clients, and we’re fortunate to have been able to strengthen our offer and welcome Mathew, Anwen and Emily to the team. Their passion for politics, policy and campaigning is infectious and will undoubtedly benefit our clients and the services we provide."
