The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

We are recruiting for a proactive and enthusiastic Account Director to join our specialist, rapidly growing Public Affairs practice. This dynamic team leads political and stakeholder engagement campaigns for clients in an exciting range of sectors including technology, health and sustainability.

The Public Affairs practice supports clients in engaging with the political process to build and enhance reputation, drive regulatory change and generating commercial opportunities in the public sector. By forging strategic relationships, advising on policy change and campaigning on high profile issues, we maximise the impact of clients’ communications across a range of sectors.

We are looking for a driven Account Director to take a major role in the day-to-day management of programme direction and client consultancy. You will shape powerful stories, execute winning communication strategies and maintain a network of stakeholder relationships. 

This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly expanding team at a very exciting time. The chosen candidate should have proven experience of working in a Public Affairs practice in an agency. Experience in Technology, Healthcare, Environment or Sustainability policy would be beneficial. As part of our wider integrated agency offering, you will have the opportunity to work with a fantastic range of clients and develop wider communications skills.

The chosen candidate will have:

  • An excellent understanding of the external policy and current affairs environment;
  • Excellent written and presentation skills;
  • Strong client facing skills and confidence to lead meetings with clients where necessary;
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to oversee several workstreams across clients, and an ability to prioritise work;
  • The ability to think creatively and to drive campaign ideas to deliver client outcomes;
  • Ability to support and drive new business activities as part of a wider team;
  • An ability to provide guidance and support to junior colleagues, including quality assurance and on-the-job training;
  • The ability to build and manage budgets;
  • A willingness to go the extra mile and be a proactive self-starter.
