The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

An exciting opportunity take up a new Associate Director role with an ambitious and fast-growing communications company, founded by two practitioners with significant track records. This role is for a motivated and talented individual to join our small, but growing team. You will lead client accounts and play a direct role in the growth of the business. You will have strong experience in the communications industry, either agency or in-house.

Clients span the AI/ tech, energy, retail, health, education and transport sectors. The business builds on 40 years of combined experience between Zaki and Nick, including over a decade in the Royal Household.

About the Role – Functions include:

  • Managing a portfolio of client accounts, taking responsibility for their strategic direction and development;
  • Incorporating traditional and social media channels into integrated communications plans;
  • Support with crisis communications and issues preparedness for clients;
  • Regular engagement with journalists and influencers, constantly developing relationships with media contacts on behalf of clients;
  • Regular written work for both clients and the company, for example through articles, blogs and speeches;
  • Leveraging personal network of professional contacts to benefit clients and the company.

Skills and attributes

  • Responsive to client needs and confident in client handling;
  • A creative thinker with the ability to problem-solve;
  • Ability to develop professional network and contacts;
  • Deep knowledge of the industry and wider news / cultural agenda;
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, able to articulate ideas confidently and succinctly;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Diplomatic and discreet in nature;
  • Ideally someone with a network of contacts in the media.

  • Full time role;
  • Central London office-based with some homeworking;
