Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Due to growth within the Strategic Advisory team, we are looking for an enthusiastic new Associate to join us. It is an exciting time to join the team, with plenty to get stuck into on the politics side and the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects at all stages of delivery right across the country.

You will play a key role within the wider Strategic Advisory team, managing day-to-day work across a range of campaigns at any one time. You will offer political insights while staying on top of emerging policy and current affairs with a focus on the built environment at the local and national level.
Your commitment to client care will mean you maintain positive client relationships easily, while your focus on ideas and solutions will contribute to the team’s growth and directly feed into new business initiatives.

At Iceni, we operate a hybrid working arrangement which will mean you are expected to come into our Farringdon office at least three times a week after your initial induction period. The nature of our work will mean that you should be prepared to travel as needed to events or meetings, sometimes outside of the usual working hours.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day project management across a range of accounts for variety of clients, taking ownership of campaign responsibilities;
  • Play a key role in supporting the team’s Business Plan objectives and future growth;
  • Work closely with wider team, including supporting more junior members of staff;
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on engaging with political and strategic stakeholders with a focus on the built environment;
  • Stay close to political landscape and policy development across Government departments, Opposition parties and relevant political institutions;
  • Build relationships with internal teams and key clients;
  • Identify new business opportunities;
  • Attend external networking events with the aim of securing new business and widening network;
  • Organise and play an active role in small and larger scale events from roundtables to panel sessions.
