Join the Network

Britain Remade is the nation’s leading pro-growth campaign, with over 40,000 supporters. We combine in-depth policy research with modern political campaigning to tackle Britain’s biggest problems, from expensive energy to the housing shortage.

We are looking for a Campaigns and Operations Assistant to join our campaigns team. This is an entry-level role for someone who wants to work in political campaigning, helping Britain Remade deliver campaigns that get Britain building again.

A core part of the role will be helping to organise Britain Remade’s programme of public events around the country. You will also provide research, administrative, digital and organisational support across our wider campaigns.

This is a varied and practical role. One day, you might be researching a local policy issue, or helping draft an email to our supporters. On another, you might be booking an event venue, liaising with speakers or travelling to help run a town hall meeting.

The role sits within the campaigns team and reports to the Head of Operations.

About the Role

As Britain Remade’s Campaigns Assistant, you will:

  • Help organise and deliver Britain Remade’s programme of events across the country.
  • Support practical arrangements for events, including venue bookings, invitations, registrations, materials, travel and suppliers, and attending events to ensure that they run smoothly and professionally.
  • Liaise with supporters, speakers, venues, local organisations and other stakeholders.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and organisational support across Britain Remade’s campaigns, including maintaining BRM’s CRM database.
  • Conduct desk-based research and help prepare briefings, background notes and campaign materials.
  • Help draft supporter emails, website copy, social-media content and other digital communications.
  • Maintain campaign plans, Britain Remade’s CRM database, event records and other internal systems.
  • Monitor relevant political, policy and local developments.
  • Assist the wider team, contributing ideas to the development of new campaigns and policies.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Excellent organisational skills and close attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage several tasks at once and meet deadlines. You should have  a willingness to take responsibility for getting things done.
  • Clear and accurate written and oral communication, including confidence communicating professionally with supporters, speakers, suppliers and external stakeholders. You should be unafraid to pick up the phone to make things happen.
  • Good judgement and the ability to remain calm when plans change or problems arise.
  • The ability to work well as part of a small team and support colleagues where necessary.
  • A willingness to travel around the country and occasionally work outside normal office hours to support events.
  • An interest in politics, public policy, communications or campaigning.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for economic growth and Britain Remade’s core goal of getting Britain building again.

Desirable

  • While not necessary, some experience of working or volunteering in politics, campaigning, events, public affairs, a charity, a think tank or related organisation may be helpful:
  • Strong research skills and the ability to summarise information concisely.
  • Experience helping to organise public events, meetings or conferences.
  • Experience producing digital content, supporter communications or social-media posts.
  • Knowledge of, or an interest in, housing, energy, transport, planning or economic policy.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be organised, curious and keen to learn. You should enjoy both the practical work involved in making an event happen and the intellectual work of understanding an issue and communicating it clearly.

You will be comfortable speaking to a wide range of people, from members of the public and local campaigners to politicians and policy experts. You should be willing to get stuck in, take ownership of tasks and help wherever needed within a small and busy team.

This role may particularly suit someone who has recently graduated or has proven professional experience. However, we are more interested in your skills, judgement and potential than in a particular qualification or career path. Relevant experience could have been gained through employment, volunteering, student societies, political activity or organising events.
