The British Air Transport Association (BATA) is seeking a new Chief Executive to represent the UK airline sector and lead the Association at an exciting and crucial time for aviation.

BATA is the trade body representing UK registered airlines, promoting their interests with government, Parliament, the CAA, and the media. Our member airlines include British Airways, DHL, easyJet, Thomas Cook, Thomson Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

You will be responsible to the Chairman and Executive Committee, working with them to set the strategic direction and priorities of the Association. With the support of a small executive team, you will develop policy positions and manage campaigns to influence key political and regulatory issues, whilst acting as an ambassador for the sector in the media and with a number of stakeholders.

We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and organised individual with significant public affairs experience within a challenging political and regulatory environment. Your excellent communication and people skills will be combined with proven experience influencing, negotiating and collaborating with others to achieve common objectives. Experience in the aviation industry and/or a trade association is desirable, although an ability to master complex issues and translate them into simple, effective messages, demonstrated by a successful record of PA/PR campaign management, is essential.
