The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way.

At TCS we have secured many positive policy changes for children and young people, and by working alongside them. Despite this there is an ongoing backdrop of significant decline in children’s well-being. The current politically turbulent context does not priortise the needs of children and young people and swingening spending cuts and lack of attention from decision makers has left children and young people facing extreme challenges. At TCS we want to grow the impact and power of our advocacy and campaigns work in order to hold decision makers to account and achieve real change for children and young people.

As Head of Advocacy & Influencing, you will be playing a crucial role in this work by leading political and social influencing and developing powerful campaigns. As the senior leader in the Advocacy & Influencing Knowledge Group, you’ll be helping The Children’s Society build our skills, expertise and capabilities in campaigning and public affairs. You will also work alongside senior leaders skilled in media, mobilisation, supporter engagement, partnerships and alliances to draw on your political nous and strategic instincts to fuel our engagement with key audiences and stakeholders that can together create change.

This role sits within our Social Impact Domain.

The Children’s Society runs over 100 local services that help thousands of young people who desperately need our support, and we campaign to get laws and policies changed to make children’s lives happier and safer.

Every day we’re changing the lives of children in this country for the better – and with your help, tomorrow we can be there for even more.
