The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

MillionPlus is the Association for Modern Universities in the UK, and the voice of 21st century higher education. We are looking for a Head of Public Affairs to promote MillionPlus as an authoritative voice in higher education and ensure that the contribution of modern universities to society and the economy is recognised by politicians, statutory bodies, and key opinion-formers.

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will have the experience to plan, develop and deliver the MillionPlus parliamentary and stakeholder engagement strategies.

Pro-active in identifying interested and influential politicians and officials, you will manage relationships with parliamentarians, Ministers, and their advisers. You will also engage with MillionPlus member universities to identify and pursue opportunities to promote MillionPlus research, briefings and policy positions with national and regional decision-makers.

With extensive high-quality written, communication and organisational skills, you will have a strong knowledge of parliamentary procedure and a proven track-record of writing persuasive, evidence-based briefings, and submissions, including by undertaking research and data analysis.

Highly organised with the ability to form strong relationships, you be responsible for parliamentary monitoring, internal briefings and delivering the high-profile annual party conference programme, parliamentary events, and roundtables. You will convene MillionPlus Networks and Working Groups associated with the role, ensuring timely input and feedback to the policy and research programme as well as individual projects.

Salary and benefits:

£40,102 - £45,869 (inclusive of London Weighting) | Local Government Pension Scheme | Holiday entitlement: 30 days + 7 university days.
