Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Our work combines rigorous policy analysis, creative strategy and hands on delivery to help clients navigate complex challenges and make a real impact.

The role

We are looking for at least one highly proactive, ambitious and political engaged intern to join our dynamic and growing team. These are paid internships and an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain hands on experience in public affairs, policy and strategic communications.

Key responsibilities:

You will work closely with colleagues across the business to support a range of client accounts. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of public affairs and communications campaigns
  • Drafting client materials such as briefing notes, policy reports, and strategy documents
  • Conducting research and policy analysis on key political and regulatory issues
  • Monitoring political, regulatory and media developments and producing concise client briefings
  • Helping to plan and deliver events including parliamentary roundtables, receptions and report launches

We are seeking someone who is:

  • Politically aware, with a good understanding of Westminster, Whitehall and the broader UK policy landscape
  • A strong writer and communicator with excellent attention to detail and the ability to summarise complex issues clearly
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks under pressure
  • Enthusiastic, curious and ready to take initiative
  • A team player who is also confident working independently
