Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

We’ve ambitions to change so much, to improve support for endometriosis – are you the experienced Policy and Public Affairs Officer we need to help us?

This new and exciting role sits within our small but ambitious Campaigns and Communications Team, and you will be responsible for providing policy expertise to deliver a new campaigns and communications strategy, working closely with colleagues and volunteers within the organisation as well as external stakeholders.

In this role, your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Keep abreast of policy and political developments across the UK including Debates, questions, motions, and select committee activities;
  • Proactively identify opportunity for organisational engagement;
  • Identify and respond to policy consultations and opportunities to influence external policy to better support and represent the needs of those with endometriosis;
  • Provide coordination and administrative support for our work with government groups, for example APPGs and devolved equivalents;
  • Support the team to communicate the charity’s position on policy issues across the UK to a variety of internal and external audiences;
  • Monitor organisational policies and coordinate with key stakeholders including our Medical Advisory panel and Specialist Advisor to ensure the policies best support those with endometriosis;
  • Support the Campaigns and Communications Manager to develop policies and positions for relevant media enquiries;
  • Coordinate our engagement with the research community, including liaising with research consortiums, and coordinating our Patient & Public Involvement work for research;
  • Support the CEO and colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the charity. We are a small, busy charity, and all staff help with the general running of the organisation in addition to their specific role activities;
  • Support the smooth running of the Campaigns and Communications Team, and covering absences as required.
