I am currently recruiting for a Private Secretary for the Director General of a global membership body in the technology sector. The role reports to the orgnanisations Director General but will require very wide interactions with senior internal and external stakeholders. This position is perfect for an individual of high potential, intelligent, ambitious and well-rounded with excellent interpersonal skills. 

The individual will build a strong understanding of all business aspects within the organisation and be able to support the Leadership Team in a wide variety of activities.

The main responsibilities are:

  • Project Manage all appropriate Board level Director General actions to ensure they are fulfilled. This is likely to include working with, supporting or coordinating with a wide range of leaders and senior professional staff. This will include preparation for a series of Board level meetings and subsequent actions.
  • Take project management roles on a range of non-operational issues and / or co-ordinate a range of cross functional activities / deliverables, including presentations
  • Perform the role of research manager for the Director General, either collating expert knowledge from various areas of i.e. public policy, products and services, strategy or providing point research upon request, including ad hoc analyses.
  • Structure (with the DG) and project manage an appropriate investment in time / effort to ensure that short term operational activities are optimised with longer term strategic development.

You will have:

  • Excellent spoken and written communications in English, with a second language desirable;
  • Demonstrable project management experience;
  • Experience of working in an international environment, and in virtual teams;
  • Good eye for detail;
  • The ability to persuade and motivate multiple C-level stakeholders;
  • A track record of positive interaction with senior management and execution of identified actions;
  • Excellent analytical skills, able to assess complex information and synthesise options and recommendations;
  • Highly competent in PowerPoint, Excel and Word, and good familiarity with their templates;
  • Highly organised, able to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with multiple and changing priorities.
