Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Join our inclusive and passionate team as a Public Affairs Officer in Wales and play a pivotal role in shaping political debate towards ending cruelty inflicted on animals in the name of 'sport'. With a competitive salary of £32k, plus an 8% pension contribution and a home working allowance, this is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong knowledge of Senedd processes and the Welsh legislative environment.

As a Public Affairs Officer, you will be at the forefront of securing key campaign goals,including advocating for an effective ban on snares and an end to the caged breeding of 'game' birds. Your role will involve monitoring and coordinating relevant Senedd activity, providing strategic advice on political lobbying, and representing the League's policies to the Welsh Government and related bodies.

Your excellent stakeholder management skills will enable you to build and maintain influential relationships with politicians, their advisers, opinion formers, and policy makers, garnering support for our objectives and activities. Collaborating with internal teams, you will help deliver impactful campaigns that set the standard for improving animal welfare not only in Wales but across the UK.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in political communications, campaigns, public affairs, or similar
  • Strong knowledge of Senedd processes and the Welsh legislative environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Full time, home based, compressed hours available.
