SEC Newgate EU is a Brussels-based advocacy and communications consultancy with global reach as part of the award-winning SEC Newgate Group.

We are looking for a talented communications consultant with a passion for policy communications and an understanding of the power of digital advocacy to drive business growth.

The successful applicant will be part of our dedicated communications team, supporting clients across topics and sectors, including chemicals, sustainability and mobility.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support SEC Newgate EU’s overall business development efforts and help enhance communications capabilities within the team;
  • Provide counsel to clients on policy communications, internal communications and communications strategies;
  • Work with the SEC Newgate EU communications, media relations, association management and policy teams to manage and implement existing communications and advocacy programmes;
  • Develop annual working plans in line with strategy and policy developments;
  • Draft quality materials including presentations, newsletters, speaking points, media toolkits and other communications materials;
  • Maintain and enhance social and digital channels including regular strategic reviews of digital performance;
  • Manage client accounts and junior staff members;
  • Develop specific marketing projects to promote SEC Newgate EU’s communications practices.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Significant working experience in communications, ideally with previous agency experience, with a proven track record in business development within the sector;
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English, with proficiency in at least one additional European language preferred;
  • Excellent social media skills (strategy, content, management, analytics);
  • A good understanding of the European policy landscape;
  • Ability to write clearly, creatively, and concisely and display strong presentation skills;
  • Ability to grasp technical issues and make them understandable;
  • Commercially astute with a strong sense of client service and experience in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities;
  • A team player with the ability to motivate colleagues and contribute to the growth and expansion of the organisation.
