The role
The Senior Policy Manager works to identify, shape and articulate policy positions for The Open University on a broad range of government policies in England that are of relevance to the University and its students. You’ll be part of a UK government and external affairs team based within its Strategy Office seeking to influence public policy and funding priorities that support flexible distance learning and have a positive impact for OU students. The successful candidate should have a willingness to work flexible hours (some evenings and weekends).
Skills and experience
Can you demonstrate significant experience in drafting impactful responses to UK Government and parliamentary inquiries and consultations?
Have you a talent for working across a range of disciplines to distil complex and technical policy areas into clear and strong messages?
Do you have strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and are highly motivated with an ability to manage a complex brief and exercise initiative and judgement across a broad area of responsibilities?
