By the end of the day participants will have:
- Discussed what is meant by a strategic approach
- Examined recent examples of strategic work from the public and private sectors
- Have had the opportunity to practice strategy tools and techniques
- Gained the confidence to contribute to their own organisation's strategic planning
Training Consultant: Nic Suggit
Nic is an experienced training and development professional. He has been a high school teacher, a management trainer and for ten years was Head of Training for St John Ambulance. He joined the civil service in 2002 in a policy role within the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister before joining the National School of Government in 2006 as a senior lecturer in policy and strategy. While there he completed an MSc in Organisational Development and Leading Public Sector change and has applied this theoretical knowledge to take up roles in government on Lean implementation, Business Process design and organisational change management.
Nic has many interests, is very involved in local community activities and is a trustee of a charity working in South Africa. He brings this practical awareness and theoretical knowledge together to create an interactive learning environment where participants are encouraged to share their learning and experience.
