The post holder will be responsible for helping to inform and influence disability policy at a local, regional and national level. You will also be responsible for advising the Leadership Team, Senior Managers, and the wider charity on key policy issues related to accessible housing, social care and disability employment.
Within this role you will be expected to:
- To be the Trust’s primary policy contact on legislative, regulatory, and policy issues relating to care, and accessible housing;
- To support the Policy and Communications team and the entirety of the Trust with relevant research on issues affecting disabled people;
- Assist in the preparation of written reports for internal and external stakeholders;
- Be a skilled writer and researcher;
- Have a good political judgement;
- Be an excellent communicator, with the ability to be flexible, respond positively to change, and work effectively under pressure to deal with conflicting priorities;
- Have exceptional organisational skills.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level with an extensive understanding of UK Parliamentary structures, processes, and policy making procedures. You will also have experience of working within an energetic Parliamentary or Policy related role.
