Alexandra Paterson, a consultant with community and political consultation specialists Curtin&Co, has been elected as National Chairman of Conservative Future following a nationwide ballot of Conservative Future members.

Paterson will head the youth wing of the Conservative Party in the build up to the 2015 General Election (full details of the elections can be found on the Conservative Future website). She is also co-ordinator for the Conservative Party’s Team 2015 and RoadTrip2015, projects that provide campaign support for the 80 most marginal seats the party needs to win in 2015.

Paterson previously worked at the think-tank Parliament Street as an events co-ordinator, organising social events and speaker receptions. She also previously practiced as a solicitor in the North West.

Commenting on her election, Paterson said: “I am delighted to have been elected as National Chairman of Conservative Future. The Conservative-led Government has made a huge difference to lives of ordinary people. I see this every day as Curtin&Co helps put the Localism Act in to practice by providing the communication between local people and developers to gain consensus and support for developments happening in their areas.”

Curtin&Co’s chief executive, Tom Curtin, added: “As a company we fully support our consultants also pursuing their political goals. Through Alexandra’s new role in Conservative Future she will gain a much broader understanding of the issues being raised within a range of communities and that can only benefit her work at Curtin&Co as well.”
