Public Affairs Networking & Events

PubAffairs organises free networking events in the evening of the last Thursday of the month, meeting at different venues in Westminster. Events are relaxed and informal, providing an ideal platform for industry networking. The first event took place over 10 years ago, in January 2002.

The members of the PubAffairs network range from those looking to break into the industry, account executives, public affairs managers and directors, right up to managing director level.

Members are from all sectors concerned with public affairs, government affairs, policy, stakeholder and media relations, corporate communications and lobbying. Members are from trade associations, representative bodies, political consultancy, companies, NGOs and charities, think tanks, civil service, Houses of Parliament, Devolved Administrations, political parties, recruitment, law firms, political monitoring, polling and market research, the media, students and other public affairs related groups.

The PubAffairs Freelance Network was launched at the end of 2011 for freelance, interim and micro-business public affairs professionals. The group is also for those considering self-employment and setting up on their own and, through attending the events, the PubAffairs Freelance Network provides practitioners with the chance to gain invaluable insight and advice from others about the practical aspects of freelancing and setting up a consultancy business. PubAffairs Scotland Networking Events were re-launched in 2012, with the first event taking place in Edinburgh. The events present an opportunity for informal networking within the Scottish public affairs industry, bringing together practitioners from all aspects of public affairs and wider communication functions with political officers and civil servants.
