We have an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager to join our Local Public Affairs team.
The Role
As an Account Manager you will play a critical role in the delivery of our local public affairs work. Our account managers are the day-to-day links with our clients and lead on the delivery of our projects.
You will have experience of working for a public affairs agency or in an in-house role. You will have a degree level qualification or in-depth knowledge of UK government, local government and politics. You will need to be a very competent writer, able to use your own initiative, and be keen to get stuck into every aspect of a project.
You would be joining an enthusiastic team supporting a wide range of clients across the country. We will need you to be comfortable working independently from an early stage and supporting your colleagues and our clients at conferences and industry events.
Essential skills we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in the industry;
- An understanding and knowledge of local government politics,local government processes and procurement in the United Kingdom;
- A ‘self-starter’, able to motivate yourself and work on your own initiative;
- Events management experience;
- Ability to support and guide junior staff;
- Excellent research and communication skills;
- Complex project management experience;
- Personable, able to relate to stakeholders and politicians;
- Customer care and client management skills.
The main strands of work are:
- Providing up to the minute and detailed local political intelligence and advice to clients;
- Account management for our public affairs clients;
- Being the key day to day contact for clients;
- Supporting client meetings;
- Issuing briefings and reports for clients;
- Managing and organising client and Cratus events;
- Support account executives with their work and progression;
- Project management and client lead work;
- Attending client meetings to support senior colleagues;
- Drafting briefings and reports for colleagues and clients;
- Research and social media monitoring;
- Supporting the senior team with business development activities;
- Company responsibilities.
