The Neurological Alliance is looking to recruit a full time Chief Executive: a unique individual with the commitment, enthusiasm and political experience to drive forward the organisation representing the 10 million people in England with a neurological condition.

Over the last few years the profile of the Alliance has developed significantly, and with it our ability to influence policies affecting people with neurological conditions. We have a significant reputation within government and with senior policy makers in NHS England and Public Health England for our understanding of the services required by people affected by neurological conditions, their carers and families, and the climate in which these services are being, and will be, delivered.

We are looking for an inspirational leader with a strategic mind-set capable of seeing the big picture, political flair, and high-level influencing skills to work with our small team and highly supportive members. You will raise the profile of the issues faced by those with neurological conditions further and lead the Alliance through the next exciting chapter in its evolution.

Reporting to the board of trustees, the Chief Executive will be central to an expanding network of relationships within and outside the organisation. You will work to maximise our impact resulting in improved service provision and outcomes. As such, you will have a demonstrable track record of successfully engaging a wide range of stakeholders and, critically, practical experience of the current commissioning environment, use of health data and campaigning for change.

You will also have excellent management skills with which to lead the team, be able to work effectively with a strong and supportive board of trustees. Previous experience of operating at senior management level within the voluntary sector, experience of income generation and a strategic understanding of fundraising is desirable.
