As Communications and Events Officer, you will work across the whole organisation to deliver high-impact comms content and high-profile events.

This is an exciting time to join The Difference as we are expanding to increase our impact, reach more schools, and develop our influencing strategy. As a key part of the Policy, Impact, Research and Communications Directorate, you will play a crucial role in amplifying our messages to influence change-makers in Trusts, Local Authorities and National Government.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration - As Communications and Events Officer, you will work across the whole organisation to deliver high-impact comms content and high-profile events. You will be supported by multi-disciplinary colleagues with expertise in programme delivery, public affairs, policy influencing, research, press, and fundraising. This role is great for gaining exposure to the senior leadership team by working closely with the Director team and working across the whole organisation;
  • Annual Conference - A key aspect of this role will be supporting the delivery of our annual inclusion conference, IncludED, which attracts over 500 school practitioners and leaders each year. You will also support the delivery of smaller events including publication launches and symposiums matched to the organisationʼs workplan and strategy;
  • Social Media Strategy - You will lead our social media content to drive sales of our programme and influence our identified change-makers. This will involve producing engaging graphics, posts, and persuasive story telling content across LinkedIn, BlueSky, and Instagram. This will involve working across the team and with external partners to produce blogs and other content.

The Difference is still a small and growing charity. This means that our work is fast-paced, our roles are broad, and there is a culture of being highly autonomous, reactive and flexible, as the needs of the organisation evolve. If this sounds exciting rather than daunting, then this could be the role and team for you!
