I am currently recruiting for a Director of Policy with a fast-growing technology business in Berlin, Germany.

Responsibilities:

1. Communicate with government. Ensure regular contacts with policy makers, government authorities, and advisors in order to understand the latest regulatory requirements;
2. Work with internal teams together to shape the strategic and actionable plan, and make product features and content standards;
3. Actively identify emerging and significant policy issues in Germany, and engage with stakeholders on issues of importance;
4 .Monitor political and social events in Germany, and work with local teams to mitigate operation risks;
5. Communicate with local scholars and academic institutions, and provide interpretation of policy and regulations;
6. Build up strategic relationship with local partners, and launch joint projects.
7. Active members of relevant associations and groups related to contents and data privacy issues.

Qualifications:

1. Significant demonstrable experience managing public policy and/or government relations and advocacy work;
2. Proven work experience in local government or a public policy team of a global internet company is preferred;
3. A vast understanding of the Germany content market and the social media industry;
4. Keen understanding of the Germany political system, environment and institutions, as well as cultural landscape;
5. Solid network with the Germany policy makers, the academia, and the technology industry; 6. Interest in emerging technologies and policy work;
