Based in the UK and part of the Iberdrola Group, ScottishPower is a world energy leader supplying gas and electricity to over 3.4 million homes and businesses in the UK with activity of over 10,000 MW of generating capacity.

Supporting the Head of UK Government Affairs, you will provide vital assistance in communicating with parliamentarians at all levels, improving links and networks with key political groups in both Scotland and Wales.  

Responsibilities will include dealing with policy, constituency and parliamentary enquiries from MPs, MSPs, AMs, Peers and associated staff, as well as monitoring of UK energy issues and policy developments. You will also act as a key contact for parliamentarians on major energy projects taking place across the UK.

Enhancing and protecting ScottishPower’s reputation with political audiences, you will advise various ScottishPower businesses with appropriate means of effective engagement.

We are seeking a self-motivated political Public Affairs professional with a proven track record of direct Parliamentary experience with highly developed oral and written communications skills. 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Comprehensive understanding of political environments and process at different levels in the UK;
  • Operating experience of the Scottish and/or UK political process;
  • Established network of political contacts with ability to develop relationships with political operators at every level;
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills.

Salary and Benefits

£38,400 - £48,000 dependent on experience + 10% bonus and Private Health Care
