Border to Coast is hiring a senior policy and communications professional to build the organisation’s strategic communications (external and internal) and policy advocacy function. You will play a key role in the delivery of Border to Coast’s mandate to its Partner Funds.
You will develop the organisational strategy and planning for engagement with stakeholders and policy makers as well as external and internal audiences. You will also take charge of the external communications plan and ensure alignment with the internal communications plan. This includes responsibility for the end to end development of events, developing and delivering the annual report and responsible investment report alongside implementation of the public affairs plan, with proactive relationship management with policy stakeholders.
We are looking for someone with experience in the financial services sector, preferably from the investment industry, (or another highly regulated industry) in the public or private sector and an awareness of the legislative and regulatory environment in which Border to Coast has been created. In this environment, you will have advised senior leaders on strategic communications and policy.
Evidence of managing projects of varying scale and strong media relations handling, building long-term valuable relationships is important as is a proven track record handling sensitive policy issues and the policy making process. You will have the ability to manage multiple workstreams and deliver digital and social media to promote reputation of an organisation or in stressed situations as well have excellent inter-personal and communication skills and outstanding writing ability.
Border to Coast Pensions Partnership is a collaboration of 12 Local Government Pension Funds with a total asset value of £47 billion. Border to Coast is an FCA regulated investment company managing assets through both internal (direct securities) and external (funds) management with a number of investment vehicles, including an Authorised Contractual Scheme. Border to Coast started managing financial assets from mid- 2018.
