I am currently recruiting for Public Affairs and Advocacy Manager with a global pharmaceutical business in the Home Counties (flexible home working).

You will:

  • Be responsible for developing and executing a coordinated public affairs and Patient Advocacy Group (PAG) strategy that shapes the environment in which we launch our innovations into the NHS;
  • Ensures that UK public affairs and advocacy planning includes adaptation and implementation of relevant Global PA & A plans and initiatives;
  • Maintains in depth understanding of the policy environment and key influencers relevant to their business unit;
  • Maintains a detailed stakeholder map of national decision makers and their influencers in the NHS and UK Governments, and seeks to develop and maintain a personal network of key decision makers in order to build awareness of Sanofi positions;
  • Shares national customer insights and establishes regular liaison with UK Franchise teams, medical, communications, policy and market access to ensure alignment with business objectives;
  • Disseminates timely, relevant environmental analysis and briefings to the business;
  • Manages the work of public affairs agencies retained by the team – ensuring timely delivery to a high standard, compliance with agreed KPIs and to budget;
  • Maintains a broad understanding of the key stakeholders and policy

You will have:

  • Knowledge: NHS & political;
  • Experience: demonstrable experience working in advocacy, ideally in patient advocacy within a patient association, charity, government, the pharmaceutical or consultancy industries. Expertise in communication and Public and/or Government Affairs and/or Patient Advocacy;
  • Capabilities: Influencing and engaging skills, Politically astute, results orientation, build strategic networks and transversal collaboration, challenge the status quo and able to think out of the box, navigate complexity, Excellent written and verbal communications skills, design, structure and delivery of presentations;
  • Personal Attributes: patient minded, integrity, energy and resilience, entrepreneurship.
