Established in January 2002, PubAffairs is the premier network and leading resource for the public affairs, government relations, policy and communications industry.

The PubAffairs network numbers over 4,000 members and is free to join. PubAffairs operates a general e-Newsletter, as well as a number of other specific group e-Newsletters which are also available to join by completing our registration form.

The PubAffairs e-Newsletters are used to keep members informed about upcoming PubAffairs events and networking opportunities, job vacancies, public affairs news, training courses, stakeholder events, publications, discount offers and other pieces of useful information related to the public affairs and communications industry.

Join the Network

As an Account Executive at iNHouse you will be a lynchpin for co-ordinating activity for client teams. You will proactively support the team, working directly with the account team, to schedule and prepare well for client and internal meetings.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of creative public affairs and political communications strategies for clients
  • Having a good understanding of the regular rhythm of the client accounts you work on and taking a forward view of client and team needs, ensuring the right materials are ready for meetings and reports and updates are circulated on time.
  • Demonstrating strong research skills and proactively keeping abreast of the news, political and social developments and trends in order to produce well written, concise and thorough research documents
  • Being a trusted member of client teams and managing deadlines effectively, flagging well in advance if timings are not going to be met
  • Proactively building knowledge of our clients’ sector, business and competitors. Actively looking for opportunities to learn more, taking time to read relevant trade media, white papers etc.

This is the job for you if:

  • Have an active interest and growing understanding of politics and policy development across Government departments, the Opposition and relevant UK political institutions.
  • Have a high standard of written work with excellent attention to detail
  • Are a team player and enjoy variety and pace, and are adept at juggling competing priorities to tight timescales.
  • Enjoy networking and are enthusiastic about life in Westminster, and are keen to attend iNHouse and external events and build your network
  • Are keen to start your political communications career with a fantastic agency, where you can learn from some of the best in the business.

We're particularly looking for:

  • A positive can-do attitude, and a desire to immerse yourself in life in Westminster
  • Applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in public affairs and political communications. We know diversity fosters creativity and that we do our best work when we represent the breadth of communities our clients work with.

What you don't need:

A degree or a traditional educational background.
